description

Azelaic Acid is a 3-in-1 clinically proven active that helps reduce blemishes, pigmentation and redness. This formula uses a new-generation water-soluble form called Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD) that has similar properties to Azelaic Acid, but enables a super-light, oil-free texture. The two strong points of PAD are to even the skin tone and to control excessive oiliness.

In our formula we are using 20% Azeclair, a solution containing 6% pure Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD). While 6% might not sound like a high number, when it comes to PAD, it is an outstanding amount. The molecule is effective already and typically used at 1-3%. Studies done by the ingredient’s manufacturer show that 3% PAD (or 10% Azeclair) is an effective amount in normalizing oil production and evening the skin tone, while a study published in the Journal of Dermatological Treatment used 5% PAD for the management of rosacea.

Geek tip: Based on our experience, those who are sensitive to niacinamide tend to find aPAD an especially helpful addition to their skincare routine.

who is it for?

aPAD is ideal if you are looking for an Azelaic Acid product that is also light in texture and layers well with other products. It is an all-skin type formula that we especially recommend, if you have pigmentation, extra oiliness or redness (rosacea).

ingreds & research

key ingreds:

Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate - A new generation Azelaic Acid derivative designed to be water-soluble and thus enable light formulas. It has a similar effect to the 3-in-1 clinical active Azelaic Acid that helps to normalize oil production, evening the skin tone, reducing blemishes, pigmentation and redness. There are a few studies using PAD already: two used it for the management of rosacea here and here, and another one used it for the management of melasma.

Allantoin - A classic skincare ingredient known for its skin soothing & skin protecting abilities.

Glycerin & Methyl-Gluceth 20 - A gentle humectant combination to help the skin to hold onto water.

I'm sold on this one

I've been using Geek&Gorgeous A-Game 5, C-Glow and aPad for a month now and had no high hopes for this one, because my "main dish" is retinal and vit C. I was thinking about this as a little addition to my main routine and it turned out all together works perfectly. My skin is getting more radiant each week and 2 of my 6 biggest dark spots have faded copletely, as well as melasma is much lighter by now. I honestly don't know which is the star product here, probably the retinal, but this combination of 3 really works and I'm sticking to it! Talking about influenes- two of my favourite beauty youtubers had opposite thoughts about the aPad- one said this must be useless cause the azaelic acid is better than this derivative, but the second youtubr is inlove with this product and I decided to try it as it is so cheap, you really don'tloose much if it doesn't work on you. And it turned out it worked. At least in combination with other products. I recomment to at least try it if you struggle with all types of discoloration. It might be the missing ingredient in your routine.

This is so good, I wish I’d given it a try years ago. No azelaic acid (10, 15 or even 20%) worked for me before, but this has truly changed my skin! And zero irritation. Thanks G &G!

An amazing gentle product!

I am on my second bottle. I feel like it drastically helps hyperpigmentation and it prevents it as well. It helps with acne and is safe on my sensitive skin. Azeliac acid is such an underrated skincare ingredient but the prescription grade was too agressive on my skin so this derivative is wonderful for me. Highly recommend

Not strong enough for my type 2 rosacea

I was excited to try this as it’s the only fungal acne safe aPAD product that’s 20%. Regular AA products never seem to be FA safe, maybe because it’s fat soluble it’s hard to make. I was using a 10% AA that clogged my pores a little. I switched to this one and unfortunately my red spots came back within a few days. I switched back and forth a few times and also tried using it twice a day. Oh well, I’m still glad I tried it as it would have been great if it worked and seems to work well for other people with rosacea or regular acne. It’s more cosmetically elegant than AA formulas. If G&G ever comes out with a higher % version (if that’s possible?) I’d try it. After this I found a 20% AA product that doesn’t break me out although I can’t use it in the morning because it pills a lot.
